Koala stronghold Bongil Bongil National Park, Northern NSW

Image Flooded Gum 29 July, 2014.jpgA 2014 report released by the Coffs Coast Area of the NSW National Parks & Wildlife Service (NPWS) confirms that Bongil Bongil National Park south of Sawtell remains a stronghold for the koala in the North Coast region.

The report details the findings of a 5-night series of community koala surveys conducted in the national park during September and October last year.
The surveys recorded 30 koalas in the park over the 5 nights of spotlighting and audio-call back surveying.
