Toursim Awards for Forest Corp - a message from CEO Nick Roberts
Last night, Forestry Corporation won two silver awards at the NSW Tourism Awards, which recognise the State’s most outstanding tourist attractions.
Strickland State Forest was awarded silver in the ecotourism category while the State Forests of the Watagan Mountains, which include the Awaba, Heaton, Olney, Ourimbah, Watagan and Wyong State Forests, won the silver adventure tourism award.
The Forest Sky Pier at Sealy Lookout in the Orara East State Forest and Forestry Corporation of NSW’s Destination Marketing campaign ‘Experience a Forest Playground’ were also finalists for the prestigious state-wide awards.
Our recreation and tourism offerings generate significant community goodwill, which we need in order to operate effectively. Awards like these are recognition of the great work our staff do to offer high quality, unique recreational facilities and experiences to the community. To win two silvers in these awards, which were contested by a wide variety of tourism operators, really is an impressive achievement.
Congratulations to the team led by Kathy Jones, Louise Faulkner and Pauline Stewart for the great work they’ve done to put Forestry Corporation of NSW on the tourism map.
