medium_House Design.jpgAccording to economic forecaster, BIS Shrapnel in the company's Building in Australia 2013 report, the value of national building commencements is forecast to grow 3% in 2013/14.
There will be a small slowdown in dwelling commencements (-1%), as a rise in new houses (+2%)will be offset by a fall in 'other' dwellings construction (-5%). There will be a projected moderate growth (+2%) for alterations and additions . Non-dwelling building is forecast to increase by 7% with a gain in commercial and industrial building being more than offset by a drop in social and institutional building.

BIS Shrapnel forecasts the value of all building commencements to increase by a further 3% in 2014/15, stabilise during 2015/16 (0%) and record falls in 2016/17 and also 2017/18
